Hi Trevor, you should be able to accomplish this via a pair of Automations – one that tags tickets at the beginning of their due date, and another that removes that tag. Since Task due dates are at noon of the specified day, you'll add and remove that tag approximately 12 hours before and after that. To create this workflow:

    1. Create an Automation that adds a due_today tag 12 hours prior to noon of the tasks's due date.

    2. Add the following conditions under Meet all of the following conditions:

    • Ticket: Status less than Closed
    • Ticket: Type is Task
    • Ticket: Tags contain none of the following: due_today
    • Ticket: Hours until due date (calendar) is 12

    3. Add the following action:

    • Add tags due_today

Note! Be sure to use add tags and not set tags, otherwise you'll remove any other tags on the ticket before adding this one.

    4. Save that automation, and create a second automation to remove the due_today tags 12 hours after noon on the Task's due date:

    5. Add the following conditions under Meet all of the following conditions:

    • Ticket: Status less than Closed
    • Ticket: Type is Task
    • Ticket: Tags contains at least one of the following due_today
    • Ticket: Hours since due date 12

    6. Add the following action:

    • Remove tag due_today

    7. Save that automation, and create a View to display tickets that have the due_today tag. The only criteria you need in the view is this:

    • Ticket: Tags contains at least one of the following due_today

    8. Save that view, and you should be all set!

When your hourly automations run approximately 12 hours prior to noon on the due date of any given Task ticket, the due_today tag should be added, which will make that task appear in the view you've created. When your automations run approximately 12 hours after noon that day, the tag should be removed and that ticket will no longer appear in the view.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you Dave!  Makes complete sense, but I just hadn't thought of that...  A very helpful explanation, much appreciated.  I've set that up and seems to be working so far.

If I can be cheeky and ask one more thing - any idea how I might create a view to show 'tasks with no due date'?  I haven't managed to get that one right...

Hi Trevor Sather - I don't think there's a way to just show tasks with no Due Date, but if you create a view that shows all Tasks, you can add Due Date as a column and sort on that so the tickets with no due date are at the top.

    Thanks again - that'll work!
