    We have a max of 6 on the homepage - I'm trying to think of where you would want to autopopulate the categories...?

    You have to upload the image when you create a new category, so why not just add the icon url are the same time in the theme... Maybe I've forgotten something.

    Our homepage code includes this..

    <i class="fa
    {{#is name 'Agents Only'}}fa-comments{{/is}}
    {{#is name 'CAT1'}}fa-desktop{{/is}}
    {{#is name 'cat2'}}fa-mobile{{/is}}
    {{#is name 'next cat name'}}fa-car{{/is}}
    {{#is name 'widgets/wingdings'}}fa-university{{/is}}
    {{#is name 'Other'}}fa-users{{/is}}
    fa-3x"></i>
    <h3>{{name}}</h3>
    </a>
    </div>

    Jake give an excellent tutorial on adding images to the Humble Squid category boxes using Curlybars.

    Thanks for the link, Graeme... that was enlightening. Jake's approach differed from mine in that he used the ID and put background images in CSS. In my case I hard-coded exceptions but the ID gives me something a lot more elegant to use. I'll try that.

    Perfect! The ID was exactly what I needed – a unique string of characters that I could use as filenames for the graphics and make each of the list items I needed come out of the simple iterator with no hard-coding needed. Thanks again, Graeme and Jake!
