Hi: You can now customize the search placeholder text. Thanks very much for providing feedback as to this need.

    Hi Stephanie:

Have you considered configuring the Contextual Help feature so that it opens to the state where it includes the search box, suggested articles and the contact button? We've found that this works better than changing the placeholder label because it lays out all of the options straight away. (When the placeholder text just references Search, end users were sometimes unaware that there were other forms of contact available through the Widget.

    Hi Erica,

Thank you for your response. We actually do have contextual help turned on. For us the issue is that the current placeholder text implies personal help when it is not available. Ideally, we would love to be able to configure to this layout:

Search box with placeholder text being something like "Type your question here"

    The list of suggested resources.

The contact button (perhaps saying "Need more help? Contact us!")

    Thanks!

    Thanks Stephanie!

We don't have placeholder text customizations on the roadmap at this point, but I'm noting your feedback.

+1 for this: "How can we help?" doesn't really make sense when the widget searches for help - it implies you're opening up an interactive chat.
