Google AMP
Non planifiéeHello,
I would like to know if there is already in the widget development compatible widget with the google amp project.
We have already developed in our ecommerce and currently we have to use fixed linking for the chat. Which causes a major problem since it does not retrieve the session, each new click on the link is always a new window.

Hi there Bruno,
Unfortunately, AMP pages do not support custom JS code and would not allow the websocket connection required to establish the widget.
I would recommend linking out to a page outside the AMP post if the visitor wants to start a chat conversation.
Thanks,
Ramin

Hello, it's what I already do. The problem is that every new click opens a session.

Yes, our tests shown the same results and we dont think we can get around it within the constraints of AMP pages. We will see if we can come up with something but right now it isn't possible.

Okay, I'll follow up!

Hi! Do you have any solution for AMP pages?
-
I'd really like a solution as well. If you need help please let us know. We can sponsor development.

Hey there! There's an answer to the AMP question over here

Any updates on this? Jessie's link doesn't appear to go to a new thread.

Hi Dylan,
The link got archived when we consolidated the help centers for different products together, sorry about that.
With the current behaviour of the Chat widget, it relies on a persistent websocket connection and that does not work well in AMP pages. Until Chat moves away from the session based messaging model, it would be very difficult to provide a good experience in AMP.
Currently, we have no plans to support the widget in AMP for 2019.

Any update on this? Maybe something that relies on <amp-iframe> can be used.
For example, <amp-iframe> is used to embed Google Maps into AMP pages.
