    Hi there Sawyer,

    Thanks for the great feedback and explaining your workflow. I can see how sorting the departments based on the page could help ensure the visitor gets directed to the correct department on their initial request.

    Currently, there are two Javascript APIs that you can look at that might help out. First, you can set the department for the visitor so its pre-selected on the pre-chat form. Second, you can use the filter API to remove departments that are not applicable for certain pages.

    has there been any development on this over the past 3 years? its something we'd like to do, at least to reverse the order (eg z to a)

    Hi Sam,

    Currently, there are no plans to offer the custom ordering of the department dropdown in the widget.

    The cheapest workaround you can do is change the name of your departments to include a number, so like "1. Z" and "2. A". This would rank numerically first and get what you want.

    If you don't want the number at the front, you would need to look into building a custom widget using the Web SDK and you can have the department dropdown sort in whatever manner you would like.
