Number of attributes in a report

Hi Dave! It is possible to put 15 attributes in a report. The size limit is 20 metrics and 20 attributes. GoodData has details in their article on Maximum Report Size.

The issue is that the report workspace doesn't have room to display that many elements. It can only show about 7-8 fields before it runs out of space. That number goes down when you expand the side bar by clicking "Show Configuration" on the top right.

If you're designing the data for display, adding more attributes/metrics can make things cluttered and confusing. In a case like that, you may want to reconsider what you're putting in the report. It may make more sense to create several smaller, targeted reports, then put them together on a dashboard.

If you need a big export for use elsewhere, you can still create it. You'll just need to stick with a simple table layout and export the results to CSV.

For a big table export, I strongly recommend looking under HOW and making sure every attribute has the little "L" icon selected. That makes rows down the Left, while the "T" makes columns across the Top. A mix of L and T attributes - especially if Ticket Id is one of them - can easily make the chart unreadable. Start with all L (or all T), and adjust from there if needed.

You can export a one-off copy from the "Export" button on the lower left of the report interface. You can also go under Manage > Emailing Dashboards and set up a global email. That would allow you to send yourself a regularly scheduled copy of the report in CSV format.

I hope this helps! Happy reporting!
