This post is about issues found while trying to make sure dashboards and views are correct.
As I was building dasboards on Explore I ran into a situation where the graph was obviously missing data from the past (before April 2018) while a query on different metrics was working...
So I moved back to an easier way : support/views.
My support database as a ticket ID = 436 as the latest ticket.
I run a View with Ticket : Status IS Closed --> 105 tickets found (Completly wrong !)
I run a View with Ticket : Status IS NOT Closed --> 99 tickets found (Rather good)
So I can see that I have a total of 105 + 99 =204 tickets. BUT WHERE IS THE REST ?
Using Explore with the dataset = Support Database, I can see
- Total of ticket that have been opened = 329 (Completly wrong, should be 436)
- Total of tickets that have been closed = 332 (Pretty good I think)
Conclusion : If I can not trust the tool then there is no reason to use it to creat nice KPIs.
