Without enabling article comments, can an email notification be sent if an article is modified?

    Guide does not send out notifications when an article is modified. Your best bet here would be to turn comments off on all articles, and then turn them on briefly when an update is made and make a comment that states what the update is, and then turn comments back off. This would then send a notification with a comment indicating what change was made to all users who are subscribed to the article.

    Wow, this is a great tip, and I think you for it. There are several content types that we're planning to create that we don't expect would be static initially, such as service updates, and we'd want a way to push notifications to article subscribers. This not only seems to work as a workaround, it also would function as a kind of article changelog. The only drawback I see is that it removes the capability for customers to add their own comments and questions. 

    That said, is article modification notification on the Zendesk roadmap? It seem that for a number of use cases, this would be welcome functionality. Content is not static--should not be! It is always evolving, improving. And for some content types, it makes sense for it to evolve in designed stages. In thinking about it, I can envision the possibility of raising to the level of notification annoyance; if it was just a binary switch, all subscribers would get notified when someone merely fixes a typo, but I can solutionize a way to do this where an author making a change could decide if the change warranted notification of article subscribers.

    Apologies for the delay. This kind of notification does not appear to be on the roadmap. 

    Another workaround is to archive the article and then re-publish it; this will send a notification just the way it would when a new article is created.
