Opt-out or purge of collected visitor IP addresses and device details
We are a EU-based company and for GDPR compliance and customer privacy reasons, we'd like to be able to purge the IP address and user/device details from our logs created from Zendesk Chat interactions.
Currently these details are persisted in:
- Zendesk Chat logs
- Zendesk Support (as appended comments from the Zendesk Support default integration)
The details includes:
- Most important: IP-address of visitor
- User Agent string
- Browser name
- Platform version
We don't have any business reason to keep this data (at least for long), and we like the capability to remove them from our logs. Currently, we need to delete the chats/tickets to get rid of the data, there are no option to avoid persisting them to our chats and ticket, or to selectively purge them (e.g. via an API or better a built-in capability).
This is a compliance requirement, and therefore important to our business.

There are two posts that seems related, maybe its possible to merge a bit here, but they were quite old and the legal space has changed a lot (in EU anyway) since they were created:
