We use Chat and Zendesk Support, but we don't use Guide - all our articles live in an external site.
We really need our Chat to be able to suggest articles so that our customers can self-service 24x7. We've trialled Answerbot and "Help Center - Deflect tickets" which work great be we can't possibly move or copy all our articles across to Guide.
So we'd really like to be able to override the hardcoded API URL like this:
zESettings.webWidget.helpCenter.searchApiUrl = "...."
(instead of /api/v2/help_center/articles/embeddable_search.json which is hardcoded in your JS).
We'd be more than happy to conform to your API's JSON format.
I realise that this requires a simple code change at your end, but without it we're going to have to switch to a competitor...
