Conditional Task Assignments

We are reviewing a current request to assign Automated Tasks on creation, and/or change in a Deal.  The baseline functionality is there, but automated tasks are system-wide, and cannot be conditioned to execute based on criteria (Company / Business Unit) and assigned to different users based on the criteria.  My questions:

  1. Is there functionality in the development queue, which would provide the ability to condition assignments based on a field / custom field within a deal.
  2. If not, our intention would be to create an api to support the creation of tasks, and assignments.  Would this be a viable option?

      Hi RailWorks Corporation, thanks for asking.

      We're currently working on workflow automation for Sell that will allow for the use case you described and much more. First basic functionality will be released in Q4 2021 (it'll focus on automating updates among leads, contacts and deals), but it won't include tasks which we are hoping to tackle in Q1 or Q2 2022.

      Using our API seems like a great idea until built-in capabilities are here. You can read more about it in our developer documentation.
