Interaction options for the new dashboard builder - Gathering interest
ÉpingléeWe would love to learn how you’re currently using the interaction options and how important they are for you and your company. Your feedback will help us to shape the roadmap of the new dashboard builder.
The interaction options allow you to configure how a viewer can interact with the dashboard and specifically whether he should be able to export and drill into data.
To show your interest in this feature, please upvote this post and reply with a comment to the following questions:
- Why are the interaction options important to you? What is the use case where this feature is most needed? How frequently do you use it?
- On a scale from 1 to 5, how impactful would it be if the interaction options weren’t available in the new dashboard builder?
We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Being able to drill in and export is a huge plus for us, taking this away would make the explore dashboards alot less useful to us.

Hello Denise Sehlmeyer,
thanks for sharing your feedback about interaction options.
Drill in and export are key features for Explore and we do not intend to remove them.
We would love to learn if you voluntarily tweak whether drill in and export should be available to the viewer when consuming the dashboard or if you just leave them enabled by default.
I've added a screenshot to the post to help clarify what interaction options are about.
I hope it helps.
Thanks,

Hi,
We disable interaction options on certain dashboards - particularly those shared with end-users. We do not want end-users having the ability to decompose / drill-in to ticket data, as this provides more data than we want to give them.
Best regards,

It's important for us to have interaction options to define whether users can only view the data prepared for them in the dashboard, or if they can explore and find more about it.
Specially for different sets of teams/roles.
Impact would be 3/5, though could limit how many people would receive Explore dashboards
