Looking for an example of only utilizing Chat API from backend

Is it possible of using Chat API that doesn't use any of Zendesk Client library (e.g. WebClient/Android SDK/iOS SDK/etc) at all?

This is because we would like to reutilize our existing Chat framework on the client side regarding storage, UI, network and everything. The idea is to propagate any text from our server side back to Zendesk Chat API endpoint.
