I am trying to enable authenticated visitors for the Zendesk Web Widget. The Zendesk Widget basic chat functionality is currently already enabled and working in my webapp.
I am following along with the guide here: https://developer.zendesk.com/documentation/zendesk-web-widget-sdks/sdks/web/enabling_auth_visitors/
1. I have created a signing key in the Zendesk Admin Center.
2. I have created created a function to generate the JWT in my Django backend. Here is the function that is used to generate the JWT in the backend.
3. Once a user is logged in, I am able to see access the JWT in my frontend, but I am stuck on how to pass the JWT to the Zendesk widget. This is the snippet that shows how I am trying to pass the JWT to the widget. The console log prints the JWT that I checked seems to be valid.
I am wondering if I calling the zE function incorrectly or passing in the jwt incorrectly?
The current behaviour of the widget is that it still asks for a name when first opened and doesn't persist the conversation across sessions, as the user has not been authenticated.
Thanks in advance for any help!
