Wes - This works great. However, I want to make the transition animation the reverse of the entry animation. Right now when you close it's too quick and want it smoother. What's the CSS I can add to the animation to make that work? Thanks

Our help desk often relies on alerts posted on the homepage to relay outage and spam email information and other announcements. Currently, the only way to "expire" these articles that are alerts (that are using an alert label to fire them off) is to manually go in and either move them to draft status or remove the alert label. Which relies on the user to go back in and manually expire it.
I've used several other CMS platforms that allow a user to set a publish and expiration date. This feature would be a great addition, especially for an improved UI experience. I'm just surprised that this isn't a base feature included.
