Not sure why none of the moderators recommended this app or why none of the HC content writers or managers have included instructions on how to use this app, which was built by ZD?  

We use this app https://www.zendesk.com/marketplace/apps/support/223753/ticket-field-manager/ to hide picklist values we no longer want agents to use.  Works well..

@ ZD KB writers... It would be great to modify this article to discuss the Ticket Field Manager Application, that allows users to hid values from custom fields...

@ZD team you should add tip about using the tag value instead of field value name for multi level fields in the HC article, instead of having to get frustrated when it doesn't work and then have to read this entire thread to find the answer.  See the post by Chris Fassano
