How to Enable PDF Export for your Help Center Articles
Data ultimo post: 02 feb 2024
Integrating PDF export functionality into the Zendesk Help Center significantly enhances user experience by allowing customers to download articles in a professional format. This feature, tailored for the Copenhagen Zendesk theme, enables a seamless transition from online to offline content, ensuring that users can access, share, or print articles with ease. The implementation focuses on presenting a "prettified" version of the content, which includes a branded cover page and a clean content layout, stripped of website navigation elements, to provide a distilled and focused article ready for export.
The customization process involves a series of steps, starting from accessing the theme code editor in Zendesk to editing specific template files and CSS. The guide meticulously outlines how to insert a cover page code, handle embedded videos in printed versions, and introduce a download link or button for user convenience. Moreover, the CSS adjustments are crucial for ensuring the articles are optimized for printing, emphasizing the importance of a tailored appearance that aligns with professional standards.
For those looking to enhance their Zendesk Help Center with PDF export capabilities, the full guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough of each necessary step, ensuring a smooth setup process. This looks fantastic and just what we need. I'd like to see an example of what the final printed output would look like. Where can I find an example of what our customers would see?
Also, is there a way to test this solution out first on one or two articles before implementing it for our entire Help Center?
Thanks so much!

julie.houlton you can see how it turned out on Swifteq's Help Center.
The changes are to be applied to your Zendesk theme, so that will impact all articles.
