Imagine such a scenario: I have a customer with his profile in Zendesk including the phone number 96612345678. This customer is calling me and on the phone, I see his number 12345678. So I want to find quickly his profile in Zendesk by searching with 12345678. No results are found. Certainly, I can add 966 at the beginning of the number but it will not work every time because some of our customers have in Zendesk short phone numbers (without country code) so for such case if the customer has in Zendesk the number 12345678 and I am searching for 96612345678 again I will get zero results. 
In my opinion the search should take into account not an exact match to the string but to show results if the searched string is the part of the searched field.
