I'm trying to make the home page of HC more oriented towards new features & ideas, more in the style of what UserVoice offers (see e.g. Hot Ideas for Microsoft Edge), by changing the default templates. Note: as a "public community forum for technical issues" we have Stackoverflow.
Question: how can I render on the home page of "Help Center" 10 most popular posts from "Community -> Feature Requests" (sorted by the number of votes)? Is there any helper for that?
The "recent activity" section has very little sense in terms of UX for most of users as many times users are asking very specific questions which only they are interested in. Hence recent activity makes no sense for other users. The most popular posts instead are really valuable, because:
- The user sees that there are existing threads in which people already voted, added their comments, which encourages user to search if the thing he'd like to ask has not been asked already.
- The user can see examples of posts which gained most attention, learning on how to properly write a post / feature request.
As a result, with such interface we can ensure better UX for end users and avoid duplicates.
