Using hotjar within zendesk

    Hello Guillaume, 

    I work on the support team at hotjar! It seems like you have taken the right steps. To install the hotjar tracking code in your Zendesk help center theme you need to do the following actions:

    1. In Guide, click the Customize design icon in the sidebar.
    2. Then click Edit theme.
    3. Paste your Hotjar tracking code in the Document Head template.

    Then you can set up the Hotjar tools in your Hotjar account!

    We can check your tracking code and setup for you but we would need to check this in our system. Can you send an email to We will need the URL of the site you where you are trying to install the Hotjar tracking code.

    I'm sure you are already doing this, but just to make sure - You do change the "my-hotjar-id" to your actual ID in that hotjar code you pasted in your question right?

    Look, I don't think I've changed much since before but now it is working. Might be that some other overall settings were changed meanwhile by colleagues, I will never know...

    However yes  that was the way to go, and that at least will stay if others get the same question later.
