@Linda - At this time there is no easier way and the steps you described above would be the way an agent would subscribe to receive email notifications.  The only other option is to set this automatically via the API which would be harder to do.

This seems really dumb to me so I suspect I don't understand.  Are you saying that by default whenever a user adds a new article, Admins or Agents ARE NOT notified?  That every single admin or agent of a company must go into each and every section and click follow in order to get notified if a user submits a new article???

That's so bad that I can't believe it's true.  Can you explain my misunderstanding, please.

    Hi Chris,

You don't misunderstand, following sections/topics by email is in fact how you get notified of new activity in your Help Center. We use this process here at Zendesk and we know it's not easy.

This is something the Product team is aware of and knows needs attention, though it's not a small thing to address. I suggest posting on this Product Feedback discussion or following it to get any updates from the Product team about this area.

    Wow, ok thanks.

By the way, and this is probably a bug.  The link to the product feedback section, when clicked on in my email led me to a failed page.

    "This webpage is not available"

But when I click on it inside the forum here, it works.  just FYI.

    Thanks again!

I imagine ZD is behind when it comes to watching spaces in the knowledge base/forums.  Atlassian's Confluence offers the ability to watch a whole space.  Zendesk should follow suit and allow that option, possible as an admin option in global settings.

    Hi Janiece,

If you'd like for agents to receive an email notification for article comments they would need to manually subscribe to the Section/Article as mentioned above. However, you can also subscribe your agents to the appropriate articles on their behalf using the Help Center API.

    Hope this helps!
