Creating a Custom Metric to Show Date Changes

    You should not have to concern yourself with comparing the old and new values. There should only be an entry when the agent changes the date as opposed to updating other ticket fields and leaving the date unchanged.

    So you could use:

    SELECT COUNT (Ticket Updates, Ticket Text Field Change) WHERE text field=custom date

    This should give a could of the times the custom date field was changed in each ticket.
