    I have tried this solution using the key I took from the widget code below but no luck, it just keeps 'loading'.

    Am I using the right key?

    Has the URL 'v2.zopim.com/widget/popout.html' changed?

    Is there any more information on creating a link to a live chat session?

    We need a usable chat link (that opens a chat in a new window) to include on our main site along with other sites.

    Stephen- My link seems to still be working so I don't think anything has changed on the Zendesk side. I got this tip directly from Zendesk support so I'd say you might want to contact them to run through your scenario specifically. You probably need to have the chat widget set up before this will work but other than that, I don't know of any dependencies. Good luck!

    Chromil- I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not really a web wizard so hopefully someone smarter than me can chime in here. Or if you can post some screenshots of what you mean, I might be able to assist.

    Basically, on one of our FAQ article, we have a link for the Live Chat. However our live chat is embedded on the Help Center. So when our customers are clicking on the link, it is  not landing on the Live Chat window. The code above helped me in landing to the Live Chat form. However it was opening on a different window. Is it possible to have it on the same widget at the bottom of the screen:

    Hello! I have a question about the URL for directly linking the chat widget, which I understand is/will be replaces by the Web Widget. How long do you foresee support/availability for this type of integration? Any plan to discontinue this in the near future?

    Hi Bogdan,

    Good question. The Web Widget team are aiming to fully rollout the new experience before the end of Q3 2019 and most likely will be in July/August timeframe. 

    The new experience does support popout mode and you can use the API to see what the new URL looks like: https://developer.zendesk.com/embeddables/docs/widget/chat#popout

    You can set the widget language using the API. If you're using a standalone Chat account, you'll want to take a look at this article: Changing the widget language. If you're using Chat integrated with Support you can take a look at this article: Advanced customization of the web widget
