Organisations grow, and add systems to their IT. Althought IT should, but sometimes is unaware of all DNS requirements. More and more systems are using some sort of email and validation through SPF becomes a necessity. SPF only allows for 10 lookups per domain, before you have to configure relayed SPF lookups. Without noticing that there are too many SPF lookups, emails coming from Zendesk Support are rejected by some end-users.
In our case, another team is responsible for all DNS changes. Thus we are not aware of these changes, nor do we believe we should be.
Fail the SPF validation whenever there are more than 10 SPF lookups on a domain. So we can make sure everything get's configured properly.
