    Hi Linda,

    The segmentation is on the article level (it used to be on the section level but that was removed when they added the article level segmentation) so you could get to what you are looking for by segmenting all the articles in a category with the same segment. 

    Handling the overlapping piece may take a little bit more thought. You can show it to all signed-in users so everyone sees it but it means that everyone also sees that category and section so you'll need a general category and section for that article.

    Thanks for the quick response. I do want to ensure that I understand the way this works. 

    Reader/end user segmentation is done at the article level only. So, that means that all end users will be able to see and click through all categories and sections, but that if someone is user x and they drill down through a category, section, and article that's meant for user y, user x can see the category and section materials, but when they try to click on an article, they will receive some type of notification that they don't have the privileges to see that content?

    Hi Linda,

    If an end user does not have access to all the articles in a section, then the end user does not see the section at all. If the end user doesn't have access to any articles in a category, then the end user doesn't see the category. So user x won't see any articles that are assigned to user segment y, won't see any sections that only have articles in user segment y and won't see categories that only have articles for user segment y.

    The only way user x can get to an article for user segment y is if they are sent a direct link - that's when they will get a message that they don't have access.
