    Hey,

    Reporters need to be existing users in Jira since Jira uses this field to automate reports/filters and emails.

    If the user does not exist in Jira, they cannot be used as a reporter for a Jira Issue, similar to how you need to be an agent in Zendesk to get assigned a Zendesk Ticket.

     

    The Jira issue has three items:

    • Reporter: whoever in Jira needs to be notified of the item
    • Assignee: the user in Jira actually responsible for fixing/doing the issue
    • Author: integration-link between Zendesk and Jira
