Thanks for doing this!  For your teams that are accustomed to working in an office environment, what aspects of "office life" do you feel are important to try and maintain?  What aspects are you abandoning?

    Hi Brandon,

Answer from InaMarie Johnson, our Chief People & Diversity Officer:

Initially, we thought a lot about our existing culture and values. It really was a guiding light for us. The things that we're keeping in place are the ones that really align with those values.

First and foremost that was to stay connected. We wanted to make sure people were still able to be building relationships cross-functionally. One of the ways we're doing this is moving as many of our standard cadences to online meetings.

We also wanted to give some tips and some core training and learning to our managers on how to move into that work from home process. We have an always-online learning platform, so we pushed those tools and tips out really quickly to empower our managers to be able to effectively help their teams and help everyone adjust.

We also had some creative ideas from our workforce. Some of them came up with virtual coffee connections, where they have people get online, be present, bring a cup of coffee and just catch up.

From our European team, because many of us are sitting in font our screens for hours and hours, we're encouraging people to have non-screen meetings - take a walk (safely and observing social distancing, of course) but get away from the screen and not just sit there for hours and hours.

And of course, there were a few things we couldn't replicate. Things like if you had a big fancy monitor, we weren't able to have that for you in your home. We did give an allowance for the basic necessities - the most immediate things people would need. We did have to turn off our meals and snacks - in some offices people receive catering, and that's one thing we couldn't replicate. But we did give that allowance for setting up your workspace.

    From Elisabeth Zornes, CCO
The team surprised us with how they embraced the challenge and how they really wanted to make this work, across different home offices, leveraging new technology and trying new things. They came up with ideas and best practices on how to structure their workday - it was very inspiring.

    Hi all -

Apologies about the issue with the link. I'm working on figuring out how to make that public and will be back with an update shortly.
