Can you add an option to rename a language?
I added German and French languages to my help recently and then created some articles in these languages. Then I realized that I made a wrong pick: I added "German (Germany)," while I actually needed generic "German." I also noticed that the default language was "English (US)."
So my language selection menu looked like this:
English (US)
German (Germany)
French
Zendesk confirmed there's no way to rename the languages. I managed to correct German because I only had a few articles in this language (had to copy them manually). However, I can't do the same thing with English because there are hundreds of articles in this language. The menu looks like this:
English (US)
German
French
Please provide the option to remove that "US".

The name of the locale (language + optional location) is a system text that is selected from the list of available locales that we support so it cannot be changed. This is because there is a lot of system copy that we maintain for all the supported locales. For example the language name is not shown as "German (Germany)" to end users, but it is shown in german as "Deutsch (Deutschland)":
The ideal solution for the issue you are having seems to be to be able to change the language of articles in bulk, that way you could enable the "English" locale and change the locale of all your articles to "English". I will pass on your feedback to my colleague working with this area, but we cannot make commitments at this point to implementing a solution.
For more clarity on the business impact of the issue, could you share a bit about why it is particularly important that the language is "English" and not "English (US)" for your use case?Thank you!

It is important for the sake of consistency. Now the menu looks like this:

French
Only English has the part in parentheses.Thanks!
