Launch an article in the Web Widget API
Is it possible through the Web Widget API to trigger an article to be displayed? For example, we have the Web Widget embedded on our site. We have some "tips" (inline information, best practices) sprawled throughout multiple pages with "Learn more" links. Currently, the "Learn more" launches a Zendesk article in a new tab.
What we would like to do, is use these links as a trigger to open the article in the Web Widget. Something like this would be awesome–where you can pass in an article value for the activate API.
<button onclick="zE.activate({hideOnClose: true,
article: '1245678'});">Learn more</button>

Hi Brad:
We have been exploring enabling the Web Widget to open to a single designated article instead of a search results list. I don't have an ETA for this but appreciate your use case as we think more about it. In the meantime, you could configure Contextual Help, with the zE.setHelpCenterSuggestions JS APIs to autosuggest the article(s) that you want to surface in the widget when you active it with zE.activate. -

Hi Daniel. Thanks for your reply! We are looking forward to it:)

Any update on the availability of this?
With all of the other great features in the WebWidget API, I'm surprised that I can't open a specific article.

Any updates to this?

Hi
A must have feature !
-
This feature is very important.
It can save my client's time and prevent them from wondering around looking for information.
-
Did this ever get resolved? It would be useful.

Hi Christopher, thanks for following up. We haven't provided this feature yet, however still intend to. I will follow up when I have more to share. Thanks for your patience.

Any updates here ? This is a very valuable feature. We don't want the customers to get distracted by opening the help articles in a new tab (which we do in our web apps as of today).

Hello Selva Ganesh Balaji,
I've gone ahead and let the product manager for this EAP that you are looking for a timetable on when this feature will go live. Once they have an answer they can share with the Community, they will post here, appreciate you sharing your perspective and thoughts on this EAP with us and have a wonderful day.
Best regards.
