    Hi Sam, there are many ways and of course, those are old but we are still doing that when we need to update the placeholder text of the search bar. The default text 'Search' comes from Zendesk and you can't change from the backend as per my understanding.

    Why don't you try this:

    Thank

    Hi Sam Lewis,

    Thank you for your post, hope you are doing well today!

    First of all, bear in mind that custom code isn't supported and cannot guarantee the present and future behaviour of this implementation.

    Nonetheless, if you want to add / change the placeholder of your Search bar in your Help Center, here is how to, following Editing the code for your live help center theme

    1. In Guide, click the Customize design icon () in the sidebar.
    2. On the theme you want to edit, click Customize to open it.
    3. Click Edit code
    4. Open the home_page.hbs and replace the following :

    Locate the line :

      {{search submit=false instant=settings.instant_search class='search search-full'}}

    and add

    placeholder='What are you searching for?'

    At the end of it, it will look like that :

     {{search submit=false instant=settings.instant_search class='search search-full' placeholder='What are you searching for?'}}

    Obviously, replace What are you searching for ? by your own text.

    And here is the result :

    Hope this helps!

    Have a great rest of your day.

    Best regards,
