    Hi Michael,

Sounds like you want to create a custom launcher and that will require using our Javascript APIs with some custom code on your website.

These are the APIs you will need to use:

    https://api.zopim.com/files/meshim/widget/controllers/liveChatAPI/Button-js.html#$zopim.livechat.button.hide

    https://api.zopim.com/files/meshim/widget/controllers/liveChatAPI/Window-js.html#$zopim.livechat.window.onHide

    https://api.zopim.com/files/meshim/widget/controllers/liveChatAPI/Window-js.html#$zopim.livechat.window.toggle

Alternatively, if you are using Zendesk Support also you can choose to use the Web Widget instead of the Chat standalone widget. The mobile launcher for the Web Widget does not have text.

Hi Ramin, thank you for your reply.

The only change I would like to make, is to change the text on mobile to some kind of icon. I don't know how to make customizations in JS or API's, so that sollution is not something I am comfortable with... All I know how to do, is to copy the widget code to my site, and make it display in the right place :-)

I did consider using the Zendesk support widget, but then chat is no longer possible, right?

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Sounds like trying the Web Widget might be your best option if you dont have developers who can help with building a custom button for you.

The Web Widget supports multiple channels, including Chat. This is what the Web Widget button would look like on a mobile device:

To use the Web Widget, you will need to have an active Support account + subscription which is an additional cost on top of the Chat product. This will get you new functionality, like the ability to handle offline conversations from channels like email.

I am not sure what you are referring to by "active support account + subscription"? I already do have a paid account with Support Essential (1 agent), Guide Professional and Chat Lite. Is that not enough?

Since you have a Support subscription, go to Settings -- Widget and ensure that Contact Form and/or Help Center is turned on and you are embedding the Web Widget snippet on the page instead of the Chat standalone snippet (which is currently on your website).

The Web Widget snippet is under the "Setup" section in the Widget settings page.

Yes I also tried that. You can see it here: https://www.staging2.weensu.dk.

Problem is, that this widget is not displaying chat options, is it? How do I enable chat in that one?

The Chat contact option only appears when you have agents online. When you are offline, it falls back to the contact form to create a ticket.

If you want the Web Widget in Chat only mode, you will need to use the suppress API: https://developer.zendesk.com/embeddables/docs/widget/settings#suppress

But the experience that is currently on your staging website is expected when you are offline and have the Help Center and Contact Form option turned on.

Ahh, ok, that makes totally sense. I did not think of that. Perfect, thank you :-)
