chat Android SDK, cannot attach .pdf or .txt files, and only images can attach

    Hi Nur Sulaeman! We do allow for .txt and .pdf files, so I'm thinking that there may be something else going on here. Could you enable logging in your app and let me know what errors you're running into?

    Ok, thank you for reply, for make sure I have even tried using https://github.com/zendesk/android_sdk_demo_apps

    is there anything missing? from the send files or other settings. Thank you

    Hi all, apologies for the delay. I have heard back from our team and it looks like we have resolved this issue in our new Chat v2 SDK for Android. Please migrate to this version and let me know if you continue experiencing any problems here!

    Hello, I'm sorry I just continued again, after I updated to Chat v2 SDK for Android, when app was run I found an error like this :

    zendesk.messaging.MessagingActivity}: android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #2: Error inflating class zendesk.messaging.ui.MessagingView

    and I also tried to make a simple application for test with Chat v2 SDK for Android, chat page can appear, but when attaching a pdf file still can not, no process, and if attaching another file there is information not supported

    this the settings, my simple app code and result :




    please help what is the error so that it still cannot attach pdf ???

    Hi Nur...it looks like the first file is an xlsx, which you do not have available as an option in your settings and the second one is just listed as a binary file. Can you ensure that the file has the proper .pdf suffix and try again?

    oh I'm sorry, that's just an example if a file that isn't supported in the settings appears on the chat page, but if the pdf file when it is sent doesn't appear at all and is checked on the website there is no pdf attachment

    I was able to successfully load a PDF using our Chat v2 Demo app:

    If you still run into the issues with PDFs running that sample app, then there must be an account level problem that is causing this. If that's the case, let me know and I'll get a ticket open to investigate this!
