Ctrl+click moves to ticket instead of remain on search

    Can we get a comment from Zendesk on the reasoning behind this change?

    It was efficient to be able to create a work list by ctrl-clicking a number of tickets, without having to wait for each ticket to focus and load.

    Also here due to this issue.

     

    So if you have a problem incident, and cmd-click from that view, it works.  You can open a bunch up with the old behaviour.

     

    However from the normal search view results, that does not work.  It will move you from the search results to the ticket and open another browser.  I have to manually tag hundreds of JIRAs and this is killing me right now, really need it not to go to the ticket I clicked....

     

    Please fix this for the normal search result view. CMD-CLICK should open the ticket, and stay on the search results

    This has been escalated to the Zendesk engineering team. No ETA on a change, but they are aware of it. It has to do with some recent under-the-cover changes the UI has undergone.

    Thanks Bryan, that's good news! I just wanted to share my workaround regarding this. From the search screen (after filtering the tickets I need) right clicking on the ticket and choosing open link in new tab prevents you from switching tabs and still allowing you to open multiple tickets without having to go back and forth. I'm on a windows PC using Google Chrome. Cheers.

    We're working on updating on front end to a new UI framework and with that we are trying to reach parity with previous functionality to limit issues like these. So as these come up we are working to fix them and get you back into your previous processes. Like Bryan said we are working on it but do not have an ETA at the moment. Thank you for your patience.

    It is good to know that the issue has been escalated.

    I am not sure if same is with others but this problem is only with the search results, this is only happening with the tickets in the search listings.


    I have tried this on home tab ticket listing and also on views tab ticket listings, Ctrl+Click is working fine there as it was working before the UI update.

    Our Developers have recently released code which should resolve command/control+click failing to open tabs in the background.
