I was asked by support to post this idea on the product feedback page.
The new iPads come with Request Desktop Website -> All websites option enabled by default for Safari.
When a user visits my website via new iPad Safari, the user agent is the same as an iMac (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X), so when the zopim chat loads on my website for the user its the desktop version and not the mobile version. I have and reported a bug (Ticket #5541653) where the chat window does not stay minimised for new iPad Safari users as they continue to browse the rest of the site.
Can we have an option/api function to force load the chat as the mobile version. That way I'm able to render the mobile version of the chat for users below a specific width. Its the only way to identify new ipad users that still have the above option enabled.
Old iPad Safari works correctly as the user agent contains the 'iPad' word hence it loads the mobile version of the chat for the user.
