Incoming call pop-up always on top
Feature Request Summary:
Zendesk Talk could benefit from the pop-up for incoming calls being displayed always on top, even over other program windows.
Description/Use Cases:
Our colleagues covering the hotline are not exclusively working in the hotline. That means that in calm minutes, they work on other things, which means Zendesk may not be the active window. For this reason, it would be beneficial, if the incoming call pop-up would always display on top, like various chat clients also do. Aside from the audio cue of phone ringing, this would be a visual cue, making it easier to notice incoming calls.
Business impact of limitation or missing feature:
This is critical for our business as our colleagues in the hotline work on other tasks as well and not always have Zendesk open as the active window.

I hope I could explain the use case understandably, but if you have questions about this or hints how this can already be implemented, I would be happy to answer your replies.
Warm regards
Cedric

Update Nov 1, 2023
RE your question on agents not having headsets on and missing calls, as part of our upcoming overhaul of the Talk Call Console, we will allow you to configure a secondary audio device for the 'ringtone' (i.e., set speaker on the laptop with agent's ringtone)
---------------
Hi Cedric!
Thanks for your feedback, there is no easy way to do this because web browsers only allow you to access the tab that Zendesk is on and not have control over the whole browser (all other tabs). The browser does make a ringing noise in the headset so the agent knows a call is coming in.
That said, I understand your need to not miss a call. Your agents could use our 'Agent Forwarding' feature that will call an outside line instead of the browser, and if this phone was on your agents desks they would not miss it.
I am sorry I cannot be of more assistance! right now the above are the only options we have for your particular use case.
Thanks,

There is software out there that absolutely has this capability - for example SnapComms. If I have agents working on other things without their headsets on we are missing calls.
Will this be revisited now you are aware that this is feasible?

One of our agents asked for a flashing light yesterday as an accommodation because they keep missing calls unintentionally. A visual cue would be helpful for some agents who have sensory issues with their headsets and prefer to take breaks from wearing them when not on calls. This would be a great option, but I realize it's a big ask, so any ideas are appreciated!
