- What is the problem?
- Zendesk API users cannot specify the creation date while creating a side conversation on a ticket.
- Why is it a problem?
- In my case, I am doing an internal ticket migration. A portion of tickets to be migrated have side conversations and there is no way for me to replicate the old side conversations creation date, migrated tickets will have the wrong creation dates for their side conversations.
- How do you solve the problem today?
- I couldn't.
- How would you ideally solve the problem?
- Extend the message object with a "created_at" property. https://developer.zendesk.com/api-reference/ticketing/side_conversation/side_conversation_event/#messages
- How big is the problem (business impact, frequency of impact, who is impacted)
- Internal ticket migration requires precision. However, we cannot represent a side conversation properly. So for us, this is a big deal.
