    That's a great question, @mglinski. I'll see if I can get someone who can answer it for you over here to help.

    Hi, Nicole. After researching the question a bit, I pinged ZD Support. The reply:

    "Unfortunately, the feature you are requesting is unavailable natively in Zendesk. The drop down to choose to follow two options is by design to differentiate the type of notification desired by the person following/subscribed."

    There may still be a coding workaround though...

    Hi @mglinski,

    If you want to disable the whole dropdown, you can simply comment in the subscribe helper and it will no longer available on your section template. Like this -

    However, If you only want to hide the last option which says "New articles and comments", you can do it using CSS. Just add the below code in your CSS and you are done.

    .section-subscribe span.dropdown-menu > a:last-child {
      display: none;

    Let me know if you face any issue.

    Hello, Trapta!

    I've added to the last line of my CSS the code you shared, but both "New articles" and "New articles and comments" menu items still apear when I click on "Follow" button from section page.

    Any idea why I still cannot see "New articles" only?

    Looking forward to hearing from you. Regards,

    Also looking to accomplish this, so any other ideas are much appreciated! When I added this code to the CSS, it initially removed the option to follow "New Articles and comments", displaying only "New comments". However, when I clicked "New comments" to follow, and then click "Following" to unfollow, the "Unfollow" option no longer displays and "New articles" and "New articles and comments" displays instead.

    Hey Margie,

    To get a better understanding of the issue you're experiencing, can you provide the code you're using? While I myself am unable to assist with custom code, this may give other users a better idea so they can assist further.

    Hope to hear from you soon!

    The subscribe helper was recently updated.  It looks like there may be some classes you can update in your CSS that may be built into the helper's output per the current documentation.

    There used to be an unsubscribe helper that was removed in the last few months so it might be worth checking out the above and see if modifying the classes using the previous example and these new docs might be useful.  I haven't do any testing here, but hopefully it's a trail towards a solution.
