    I would also love to see this feature. We're having people keep a folder full of images that they have to drag and drop into the post-macro ticket. It'd be great to have the images already stored there...

    Adding the ability to customize macros with images would be monumental for the ability to create much needed procedure macros.

    I also agree that this is a much needed feature.

     

    In order to give our customers a user-friendly easy to follow instructions pictures are sometimes required. Embedded and adding these pictures within macros will help us deliver a higher quality, structured responses. The time it takes to for user agents to respond to tickets and move them towards a positive solution will also be reduced.

     

    A must have feature for any business!

    Yep, totally want this capability. The problem with adding images to the email template is that we can't get into and affect your {{content}} placeholder which means that an image will not repeat within the content as emails are sent back and forth; it sits outside of the meat of the emails and gets lost in the chain pretty quickly. You can add link and image tags in triggers, but this is no help when you receive an automated push email from a system, say an online signup page that sends you new customer signup info, from an internal source.

    Would love a rich text editor for macros like we have in the comment box here so we can easily add images, formatting, placeholders etc.

    Hi all,

    We have started a project to completely revamp the Macros management interface. As a part of this, we do plan on bringing in the new WYSIWYG editor onto the edit screen. There is quite a bit we need to investigate in order to do this, and that specific piece has not yet been started. But, this is planned.

    I asked this exact same question today. Like others, these instructional screen grabs are super useful to our users. Other then hosting the image externally and using markdown to add them to the macro, has anyone figured out an efficient way of adding images within responses? Would be excited to hear!

    ZD, has the plan to revamp the Macros management interface been started? This would be so very helpful as images are used on a regular basis when providing customer support.

    Hi all,

    The plan is still in place, but the work for supporting rich text (and therefore inline images) in macros has not started yet. We'll first be releasing a revamp of the interface, and we'll start working on adding in rich text support after that.

    I use markdown because I need to refer to Help Center articles in my Macros. Will the rich text support including hyperlinks in the macros as well as images?

    Hi all,

    Quick update here: we have started on the work to incorporate the rich text editor into macros. This will include both attachments as well as inline images. Essentially the same editing experience that you have in tickets today you'll have in macros once we're finished.

    @Brodie - no, we will not be adding additional functionality like inserting tables at this time. The editor will be the exact same editor you have in tickets today.

    I too want this! it would really elevate typing out step by step instructions on something when you can just type something small then attach an image

    Ah, I completely missed this thread when announcing a recent beta. Sorry everyone!

    A note as you read through my comment here: the enhancement we're adding will mean you'll need to be using the Rich Content editor in Zendesk Support.

    We've been working on adding the Rich Content (WYSIWYG) editor into the Macro creation and editing interface, and as part of that work we wanted to support inline images - as you can in ticket comments. We went a step further and also introduced file attachments, again as you can in ticket comments.

    Has this feature been added yet, I can't find it.  We have directions and it is helpful to send a pdf with photos in it.  Thanks.
