Thanks for the feedback, Peter. We're interested to hear if others have a similar need?

    Nicole,

I can only support what Peter said: We are using Crowd as well and it is a real pain that it is not supported (anymore). Especially now, as the legacy integration reached the end of development and support, it is a big risk to continue using it.

I already raised this problem with your support team in August of 2016 but all I got was an apology for the inconvenience caused and the info that your Developers are working on other higher priority features for the Jira integration at that moment.

Your support team did raise the issue with the Product Managers already back then, at least that is what I was told.

Crowd is nothing special or exotic. Quite the contrary, it is an integral part of the Atlassian software stack and something many companies are using if they are using one or more Atlassian products.

I am confused that this issue seems to be new to you and that nothing happened since 2016.

    Thanks for the support, Daniel!

I can't quite understand the direction of the development, but am also quite surprised that no others have commented so far.

For all Zendesk customers experiencing this problem as well, you might also want to post your thoughts here:

    https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/228275507-JIRA-integration-with-a-different-user-directory

I also added a comment in the Atlassian Marketplace listing for the Zendek for JIRA integration:

    Hello Zain

According to my experience, yes. This is why I make such a "stink" about this.

We use Active Directory for Jira.  With over 1000 users in Jira/Confluence, we are not going to manage accounts in the JIRA internal directory.  This is a serious limitation for us.

    Thanks for the support, @Tod!

It is a bit frustrating to see that many of the organizations using Zendesk apparently use other development documentation suites than Atlassian's offerings, or that they don't seem to see a need to integrate support and development using a JIRA-Zendesk link.

My organization is in the process of migrating from Jira Cloud to Jira Server (on-prem) which uses Active Directory.  So this limitation is breaking our workflow and integration we had--feels like a major step backward.  Would love to see some movement on this issue!

@Peter thanks for highlighting and advocating for this!

Matt - Thanks for the support!

We're living for almost 2 years without the Zendesk - JIRA integration now since it simply does not work at all since version 4.

Mind you, this integration has been the tipping point to select Zendesk; we are very disappointed by Zendesks (non-) moves in this area.

It seems that more big companies are moving back towards Atlassian on premises certainly in part due to the fact that storage on Atlassian cloud offerings is (much too) limited. We have been unable to start a migration into the cloud because we already use more disk space than their max offering contains... and that with a meek 450 active developers. Their on-premises products are, however, strategically important for us; no way we're going to drop Atlassian.

    @Peter

We understand that some customers prefer to use Jira Server over Jira Cloud. That's the reason we have released a Jira addon that is specifically designed for Jira Server.

We find that most of the customers who use Jira Server use it in conjunction with the build-in user directory and that is the only user directory our integration supports at the moment.

We always monitor these forums and other channels for customer feedback as a way to gauge wider customer interest. So please up vote this request if relevant to your organization.

    Hi @Yuri Mylis

I'm a bit puzzled by your entry.

Since I created this request, I suppose that my vote is in already.

    Am I wrong about that?

This is extremely relevant to us!  It's the one Atlassian piece we can't connect to LDAP due to this plugin.  Obviously, this could force us to investigate other tools for our support team that does integrate with Jira Server / LDAP.

    Thank you for your consideration.
