    We use the app Tag Locker for that quite successfully and added the tags we need to use there.

    This way, no other tags will be created by regular agents.

    Tag locker is only working with the Zendesk v1.0 not the version 2, the actual version.

    And Tag locker is not available anymore in the market place, you might check, it maybe won't be working anymore.

    You mean the app framework? I was worried as well but Tag Locker is listed as "planned" for version 2

    Frankly, I am not sure. This one works for us and there are no details on version 2 availabl afaik.

    Maybe Zendesk can chime in here?

    @Frédéric as of right now there's no alternative to restricting agents from manually adding tags. If you're on the Enterprise plan you can set up Custom Roles to restrict agents from editing tags. However, this means they cannot add tags through macros either. With this restriction, agents can only add tags through custom fields. More information in our Creating custom roles and assigning agents article.

    As Eckhard also mentioned, Tag Locker is planned to be migrated over to V2 but we don't have an ETA of when this will happen currently.

    We got around agents having to add tags by using the conditional fields app. They can choose our type of customer, then a specific list of options show. Once they choose that option, a tertiary list to add as well. Keeps from typos and ad hoc tags. Happy to connect and discuss if you'd like.

    Hey Eckhard,

    I don't have any additional information to provide on when Tag Locker V2 will be released unfortunately. That being said, I can confirm that the app is in process of being migrated over to v2 :)

    Once the app has been transitioned over it will be added to the App Marketplace again where users can re-install.

    We've recently release the V2 version of Tag Locker. It's currently available for free and is fully supported by Zendesk developers. We'll also be introducing additional features at a later date at various paid tiers.

    Thank you for the update! The new version seems to waste a bit more space than the old one though. It would be great if the tag container with the plus sign was condensed a bit more. Reduce the space between "+" and tag or even better, make the tag itself clickable. Why the extra "+"?

    Hi Tiffany,

    Sorry, one more workflow issue with the new app version. Per default it shows the available tags first, followed by the "current tags". The old one was better in always showing the already used tags with the option to show the available tags. As most of us have memorized the available tags, we often only need to see which tags have been assigned so far and type in the one we want to add. The new app slows us down as it requires additional clicks.

    It would be great to have the previous behaviour back. Thanks for listening!
