totally agree!!! Seems weird you can change the avatar of an agent (which I dont see why you would need to do that dynamically), but not the user.

I agree. 95% of our customers are women. It's off-putting to them that the default avatar is male. At the very least it should be neither male or female.

    Hi Aurélio, Gino and Kelli,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.  My apologies for the delay in responding.

In order to help our Product Managers better understand your needs, I'd like to gather more information about your situation.  Are you looking to add avatars to make your interactions more personal, or is there some other reason that you're hoping to add them?

@Kelli, what kind of avatar would be neither male nor female to you?  I'm guessing it appears male because of the hair-style, but I know plenty of women with short hair.  I'm curious how it could be made more neutral than a plain silhouette.

My users are logged in when they open the chat window. I can set dynamically their username and email, but not their avatar. I would like to be able to, just like when I use the login API which grabs the avatar i send it.

    Something like: $zopim.livechat.setRemotePhotoUrl

When I use the cookie login to link my login to zendesk, I am able to sent that info there for some reason: "remote_photo_url" => "https://www......."

    Hi folk,

We recently released some improvements to the visitor avatar in the Chat dashboard: https://chat.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015686587-Visitor-Avatars-in-Chat-Dashboard

It will now display the image from their Facebook, Google profile or via Gravatar if they have an image associated with the email address entered.
