Bad user experience while trying to search within a topic
I would like if it was easier to do scoped searches, within a topic.
Example user experience from today.
I try to find if a product feedback request exist, before posting a new one.
So I visit the product feedback topic relevant to my issue.
Doesn't seem to be on the first page. Okay, so I'll start a search on support feature requests.
But I cannot limit my search. What I have, is the global search bar.
My search returns 1000+ results, because it doesn't know I want to limit my search.
Then I have to click many times, to limit the search to the topic I was just looking at.
I couldn't find what I was looking for. Okay, I'll refresh the search term.
Oh, now I'm back at state zero again. Have to click 3 more times. Or maybe I'll just move on and make a new post. I'll leave the rest to the moderators.
Hopefully we don't end up with 1000s of requests with like 0-2 votes, for the same feature...

Thanks for the feedback, Joel. We're definitely aware of the experience, but this example and detail is useful in illustrating it for the product team.

Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback. It might not be exactly what you're looking for but there is a way to reduce your search results. In the theme settings, you can configure if you want Guide search results to be limited to the topic the end user is in.
I'm curious to hear what other restrictions would you find useful.
Cheers!
