Post Feedback - Sales CRM (Sell)

Discussed with Zendesk Sell Customer Advocacy Specialist, who discussed the item with Sell Engineers. No solution for now, request is to put the item on the feedback page.

Issue

We have a lot customers who mails us using their own personal mail address. They also put their ‘general purchase department mail address’ (like purchase@company.com) in the CC.

They except from us that when we mail those people, we also include the purchase address in the CC.

In Sell, when I am at a contact-person-profile, I can sent an e-mail from there, but now there is always only one mail address in the ‘to’ line. Its the personal email address.

What we would like to have is a solution, like:

  • Some kind of a connection between a contact person, and some kind of a ‘purchase department contact person’, which always will be in the CC
  • Add a second mail address to a contact person, which will be included in the ‘to’ or ‘cc’?
  • Something else

Community-Kommentar Q&A - Sales CRM (Sell)

Hi Jakub,

Thank you for your reply.
We sometimes uses these lists for an overview for example.
Just talked about it with my colleagues and sorting is not the main issue, however:

We will let Sell sync with our ERP system in the future. When creating quotations, our ERP system generates a MS Word file which will use the middle and last name at the top of the quote ('Dear mr. de Vries'). Once we've merged the middle and last name and synced it with our ERP (Sell will become leading/master), the generated MS Word file will make a capital of the first letter, so it will become 'De Vries', which is not the grammatical right way to write a name in Dutch.

Same issue/way of working for auto-generated letters etc.

Thanks.

Post Q&A - Sales CRM (Sell)

Hi all,

We're exploring Sell since a month now and did our firsts imports.

We are wondering if we also can import middle names.

Here in the Netherlands we're having a lot of last name's like 'de Vries' or 'van Houten'. Those 'de' and 'van' are common seen as a middle name and not particular as a last name.

We are also used to sort contacts on their last name, which is in that case 'Vries' or 'Houten', not 'de' or 'van'. That's not possible when we import the last names including the middle names. We are also used to write only the first and last name in capitals, not the middle name. Having this middle and last name separated will make it easier to keep this capitals at the right spot (also due to synching with our ERP system).

I'm curious if there is a solution and if not, how other people work with those 'middle names'.
Thanks a lot for your support!

Ronald
