How can I allow microphone access from my browser to voice calls?

Answer

To allow microphone access from your browser, see the following sections:

  • Chrome
  • Safari
  • Firefox
  • Edge

Chrome

Set your microphone and sound to Allow, instead of Allow (default).

  1. Click the View site information icon in the URL of your browser. Then, select Site settings
  2. Under Microphone, change the value from Automatic (default) to Allow
  3. Under Sound, change the value from Automatic (default) to Allow

Safari

  1. In Safari, open Settings... Then, click the Websites tab.
  2. Click Microphone and change the permissions for your subdomain to Allow
  3. Under Auto-Play, change the permissions for your subdomain to Allow All Auto-Play

Firefox

In Firefox, you can manage access to your microphone when you receive a call.

  1. Receive a call from Zendesk
  2. From the confirmation pop-up, if you want Firefox to remember your selection in the future, select Remember this decision

  3. Click Allow

Edge

  1. In Edge, click three dots icon in the top right. Then, click Settings
  2. In the Settings menu, click Privacy, search, and services. Then, click Site permissions
  3. Click All permissions > Media autoplay
  4. Under Customised behaviours, click Add site
  5. Add your Zendesk subdomain in the text box. Then, click Add
