What happens if I exceed the limit for generative search to provide AI-powered answers to search queries?

You can choose how your account responds when you reach your automated resolution limit.
To continue using all functionality of your AI agents at an additional cost, select Maintain functionality and allow overage. This lets AI agents continue to serve customers after you exceed your account’s baseline or purchased automated resolutions. When you select this option, your account will be charged for pay-as-you-go automated resolutions when you reach your automated resolution limit.
To prevent further costs once you reach your automated resolution limit, select Pause functionality and don't allow overage. This means your AI agents won't be able to serve customers anymore, and more requests will be routed to live agents. Your settings remain the same while paused and will resume when automated resolutions become available again.
