Inbuilt POLL for the Community fora.
Not plannedCan we get an inbuilt poll on Gather? A simple one would suit me fine, just so we can ask our users to vote on various issues and get quick feedback on ideas, etc.

Hi all -
I was speaking with the product manager about how we might be able to introduce polls recently, and a question he asked me was if there's any 3rd party poll software we would want to be able to embed in community posts, as opposed to building a poll functionality within Gather.
Would the ability to embed polls from other services suffice? Do you feel that it is a functionally that necessarily has to be built in Gather?
If an embed solution would work, are there specific poll software integrations you would want? -
Personally wouldn't mind, however wouldn't want to be paying for both, so would need to find a suitable poll integration that's not charging a lot. Also would like some sort of reporting, so if it was built in that might be easier to get hold of. But really the function to start with would be super helpful.

For me, having to sing up to and possibly pay for and use a 3rd party (possibly bloated) would be annoying. Personally a very simple poll would be ideal (as per the OP).

Agree that the double-pay would be a detractor for us. I'd like just a simple poll tool built in - we don't need anything that complex for our polling needs.

The product manager says that the ability to embed things - like polls or videos - into community posts is something they are planning to build into Gather functionality at some point in the future, but it's not currently on the 9-month roadmap. So it may happen in the next few years, but isn't something that will be delivered in the next several months. -

We had this functionality in XenForo before migrating to Gather and would love to see this functionality added.
