Improvement suggestion for Article Verification for Guide

- Filter for language would be helpful as this exists within the Guide > Manage Articles > Needs Verification but not in the Settings > Article Verification menu for the automated rules.

- It would be helpful to set user(s) or groups responsible for a group of articles.

*In the 2 requests above, this is because we manage a guide in multiple languages.  I can't verify an article in Spanish so it is useless for me to get verification notifications for this.


- As others have mentioned there is no benefit to including "Archived" articles.
If the Article is not being used in your guide, you would not expect to have to verify this.

- The filter options need to be able to exclude, for example we add articles for release notes.
Once a release has gone out it will not be updated.  So a year down the line I don't want to have to keep re-verifying information that will never change so it would be good to exclude them based on the label. 
(I could make a new section for the release notes but then have to add every single OTHER category in the filters so I don't think this is the best solution)

    I agree with @... - specifically, when an article is "archived," the verification rule should be removed/no longer work.

    1. Verification is done for the article and its translations. So you would verify them all at once. You could assign/submit the Spanish translation to a Spanish speaker if you'd like that content to be reviewed. If you use a translation service for example, any update to the source language (say English) done during the verification process would go out to the translation service over the API for updates automatically. You can still verify the English article in the meantime. You won't get separate verification cycles between articles and translations.
    2. You can set Ownership to be a user or group, this control who receives the notification to verify the article.
    3. Agreed, we should exclude the Archived articles and it sounds like a bug if that's not happening. I'll follow up with the team on this.
    4. Good point about exclusion for sections. We'll look into this.

    This is the main post I could find that references the issue about archived articles pinging on the verification rules.  Is this still a bug, and if so, any update as to a fix?

    Also, +1 for us on excluding sections or having the ability to exclude labels from the article verification filters, that would be really good to have for content that doesn't need any further reviewing.

    Has the bug regarded archived articles been fixed? We are trying to roll our article verification and this seems to is preventing us from doing so. Are there any workarounds?

    The issue with archived articles needing verification was addressed. Are you still seeing archived articles appearing in your Needs Verification list? If so, I can raise a ticket so we can properly troubleshoot the issue.

    Thanks for responding @..., archived articles are listed when previewing which articles will be affected, when setting up the verification rule. Is this expected behaviour?

    Hey @...,

    Thanks for clarifying that. I'll log this issue with the preview as a bug in the team's backlog and we'll work on it. In the meantime, this issue won't translate into the actual usage of the feature. You will not be asked to verify archived articles.
