Copy / Duplicate Help Centre articles
Posted Mar 17, 2015
Please can you allow us to copy / duplicate a Help Centre article.
Currently the only way to do this is to create a new article, paste the source code across articles. Even this solution has its drawback as any attachments are lost in the process.
This feature would also solve the issue of creating backups which we are also doing manually at present.
thanks
Craig

hey Tatiana Christensen
The ability to create an article template already exists. Check out the guide here on how to do it: Creating templates for Knowledge.
Hope this helps. :)

Hi Amie Brennan,
I knew that option, thanks, it's for adding articles via Knowledge in Support. We still need to be able to apply templates in the article composer when creating articles directly in Guide.

The Content Blocks are not the same. The ability to copy/clone/duplicate an entire article to produce a new one that has slight alterations is what we are all after.

Katarzyna Karpinska - is there a new link to the roadmap you referenced in earlier comments? I too tried the link provided and found that the page no longer exists.
+1 for the article multi placement and +1 for copy/paste articles.

Nathan Watts unfortunately the roadmap page was shut down some time ago. But we are actively working on this functionaliyt and hope to launch the EAP later this year.

Following for posterity… and for Bob Bowden's job updates!

Katarzyna Karpinska do you have a release date for this feature yet please?
It seems that every time we hear an update from you the release has been moved back by another quarter each time.

Has anything come from this? It seems as though it's been years, and there has been no movement. Is it just me, or does Zendesk not actually work on the requests that they receive for improvements to their product? I'm not sure what the improvements are that they make or how they are decided, but simple things like this seem to be ignored.

The last ‘official’ Update on this post is almost 3 years old and missing the mark.

Hi All,
We are nearly at the finish line with Content Blocks […]
=================
There have been 2 asks that seem to be related (they are for us)
- This one (from 2015)
- And https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4409222575258-Allow-articles-to-be-posted-to-multiple-sections (from June 2012!)

I agree with Bonnie. I've been promoted out of the role that needed this, but I get updates and frankly it's embarrassing that you're still talking about this yet nothing happens. What's it been now, over four years??

Hi All,
We have just announced a new EAP for Article Multiplacement. A feature that might help you with solving problems highlighted in this thread. You can find the announcement here.

I noticed this article says that it is planned but it's related to content blocks. Is there a feature planned to allow us to clone/duplicate articles? Maybe an agent likes the formatting they used or the first handful of steps are the same for a new process they are documenting. Thank you!
