Downloading queries give only raw data

Planned

Posted Apr 07, 2020

On Insights, downloading the tables would give you a csv or excel file with the data organized exactly how you prepared it. On Explore, however, downloading queries give you a raw data export, which means you would have to reorganize the data again, make a pivot chart so the data makes sense.

This wastes time and effort in preparing the queries only to download raw data. Hope this can be addressed asap.

Thank you!

Hi Kirsten, Ruth, many thanks for reaching out.

When exporting data as an Excel file, I fully appreciate the importance of respecting the layout that you defined in the Query Builder. We are planning to improve our PDF and Excel exports in H2 2020, as part of the which we intend to address this limitation.

Kind regards

Vincent

I agree, it is very frustrating not to be able to choose whether to keep the attribute cells merged and include active filters when downloading the report.

Hi! Great to see this is already being planned! Any updates on the timeline for this?

Hey Kirsten,

No additional information to provide at this time. Most likely this will be released as part of an Early Access Program so I would recommend bookmarking this page and check into the Early Access Programs to see if it becomes available.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

@... is there an update here? As far as I can tell, we're still just getting raw data when downloading in Excel format. I thought this was set to be corrected in 2020.

Thanks!

Hello @...,

We don't have any update on this in terms of an active EAP or plans we can share regarding this being on our roadmap. I would recommend sharing your use case here since this is a thread our PMs actively monitor for feedback.

Best regards.

Can we get an update on this? 2 years past the date of a likely "fix", and this is still the case. Is this still even planned?
