[COMPLETED] Article Expiration
Completed
Posted Mar 09, 2017
Our help desk often relies on alerts posted on the homepage to relay outage and spam email information and other announcements. Currently, the only way to "expire" these articles that are alerts (that are using an alert label to fire them off) is to manually go in and either move them to draft status or remove the alert label. Which relies on the user to go back in and manually expire it.
I've used several other CMS platforms that allow a user to set a publish and expiration date. This feature would be a great addition, especially for an improved UI experience. I'm just surprised that this isn't a base feature included.

I agree. I just submitted a ticket about this and was told there were no other requests in this forum. Glad to see I'm not alone. Big need for our event-driven business as well.

I also think this would be a great feature for the reasons listed above.

I agree.
We would utilize the expire feature with our article maintenance process. Ideally when an item is about to expire, an email can be sent to a designated email address to prompt information review so that the article can be removed, updated, or extended. It would also be ideal to be able to specify email addresses outside of agents as well as customize the amount of time to send the expiration notice and have the ability to at least set by section, but would not mind by category override.

This post is over 2 years old. Are there any news? has it become a feature or is it dead?
I am currently looking for this feature for our own zendesk helpdesk-site

Hi Louise -
I've pinged the product managers to see if there are any updates about whether this is something under consideration. It has not yet been developed.

Hey there!
Article verification is in EAP now: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000033507-Zendesk-Guide-EAP-Article-Verification-for-Guide-Enterprise (this covers content expiration).
We're also preparing an EAP for scheduled article publishing, should be out sometime in Q2.

Hi Bogdan
That's nice, but from what i gather, it only makes a list of guides that need verification. It doesn't automatically retire articles after a specific amount of time, which is what i need

Got it. That could actually be a use case for the scheduled publishing project we're preparing. I'll see if we can add this to the scope.
